Amtech Systems appointed current board chairman Bob Daigle as chief executive, succeeding Michael Whang, effective August 8.
Daigle, 59, will also continue as chairman, the Tempe, Ariz.-based manufacturing company said Wednesday.
In a securities filing, Amtech said that Whang is stepping down to pursue other opportunities. He will remain as an advisor to the company until February 8.
Daigle has served on the Amtech board since August 2021 and as chairman since March of last year. He was previously chief technology officer for the engineered materials company Rogers Corp. for a decade.
During his employment, Daigle will no longer be compensated for his service as the company’s board chairman, according to the securities filing.
