Camden National appointed Simon Griffiths as the successor to Chief Executive Gregory Dufour.
The bank holding company said Griffiths would succeed Dufour, who also serves as president, effective Dec. 31.
Griffiths would join Camden on or around Nov. 20 as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Effective Jan. 1, he would become president and CEO of Camden, as well as a member of the board of both Camden and subsidiary Camden National Bank. Griffiths most recently served as executive vice president, head of core banking at Citizens Bank.
Dufour will remain with Camden as an advisor for several months following his retirement on Dec. 31, the company said.
