Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the rose 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the were Okuma Corp. (TYO:), which rose 3.42% or 245.00 points to trade at 7,399.00 at the close. Meanwhile, JGC Corp. (TYO:) added 3.37% or 61.00 points to end at 1,868.50 and Amada Co., Ltd. (TYO:) was up 2.81% or 38.00 points to 1,390.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rakuten Inc (TYO:), which fell 6.16% or 34.60 points to trade at 526.80 at the close. CyberAgent Inc (TYO:) declined 2.55% or 27.50 points to end at 1,051.50 and Toho Co., Ltd. (TYO:) was down 2.32% or 133.00 points to 5,597.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2315 to 1286 and 248 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 1.29% to 20.49.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.31% or 0.23 to $73.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.36% or 0.28 to hit $78.22 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 9.85 to trade at $1,966.25 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.34% to 138.24, while EUR/JPY unchanged 0.00% to 155.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 99.28.
