Air Canada will boost the number of flights it offers to Asia starting this winter as it seeks to diversify its international network and meet strong demand.
The flag carrier said Tuesday it will run up to 57 flights a week between Canada and Asia this winter, and as many as 64 flights weekly next summer.
Air Canada will as much as double daily flights to Hong Kong and have larger aircraft operating to Shanghai during the December holiday and Lunar New Year travel periods, while capacity to Japan will increase by 96% this winter compared with last year. A new route to Singapore launches in April, and next spring, seasonal Osaka flights resume earlier in the year and larger aircraft will operate to Narita and Seoul, the airline said.
“With the investments we have made at our global hub airports linking Air Canada’s extensive North American network to our international flights, traveling between North America and Asia is convenient and compelling for leisure and business travelers alike,” said Mark Galardo, executive vice president of revenue and network planning.
