New Hope 1Q Coal Output Up But Sales, Earnings Down On-Quarter

Australian miner New Hope said it produced 1% more coal in its first fiscal quarter than the three months before, but that sales were 14% lower and that earnings also fell.

The company reported coal output of 2.0 million metric tons for the three months through October, but said coal sales totaled 1.8 million tons.
