Bird Construction has been awarded three new projects in the provinces of Quebec and Saskatchewan worth about 110 million Canadian dollars, the equivalent of $81.3 million.
The Canadian construction company said Thursday that two of the contracts are at the ArcelorMittal Mont-Wright Mine in Quebec, while the third contract was awarded to its 2Nations joint venture for fine tailings works on BHP’s Jansen Stage 1 Potash Project in Saskatchewan.
For the mine in Quebec, Bird will work on pit development which will take place over the next two and a half years, it said, as well as increasing the tailing pond capacity.
In Saskatchewan, it will be responsible for stripping, haulage, gravel road surfacing, access roads construction, drainage and piping work, and erosion protection at the Jansen project.
