Investing.com – Australia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sydney, the declined 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the were Ramelius Resources Ltd (ASX:), which rose 4.92% or 0.08 points to trade at 1.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Mesoblast Ltd (ASX:) added 3.90% or 0.02 points to end at 0.40 and Healius Ltd (ASX:) was up 3.85% or 0.05 points to 1.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Region Re Ltd Unit (ASX:), which fell 2.96% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.97 at the close. Adbri Ltd (ASX:) declined 2.93% or 0.06 points to end at 1.99 and Ingenia Communities Group (ASX:) was down 2.91% or 0.12 points to 4.01.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 684 to 509 and 350 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 6.11% to 10.88.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.43% or 8.60 to $2,011.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.99% or 0.75 to hit $74.79 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.93% or 0.75 to trade at $79.73 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 0.66, while AUD/JPY fell 0.33% to 98.00.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 103.26.
